Were you aware that the forum page does not look correct in IE?
Also, when I composed this message and switched to the Add Attachments tab, added the snapshot, and then switched back to the Entry Details tab, all my data except for the attachment was wiped out.
Please note that I'm hitting the site with IE in the Internet security zone with Protected Mode on, and am not using the Compatibility View. ____________________ R. Please note that it is suggested to use Internet Explorer when downloading attachments to unsure proper file type translation |

Hi, yes, i am aware of some of these issues, particularly the one where you lost the data you typed in after adding an attachment. I need to work on this but haven't had time...it's a sucky work around, but if you add the attachment first, then type your message it works fine. You can also type your message, and if you decide you want to add an attachment, just copy your message to notepad and then paste it back when you have added it.
This forum is custom built by me, so I have been working out the kinks. As far as Internet explorer rendering of the pages, I guess I'm going to have to remove the Google search bar I added. It looks fine in Google Chrome and Fire Fox...ugh...I don't like IE...
Thanks for the info. I'll work on it! _______________

Yeah, I noticed the attach first, compose second approach worked ok. I know that this is a labor of love by you, and that IE isn't your favorite (I noticed the Chrome link ). And I did note that it looks ok in Chrome.
I don't know how many of your visitiors use IE, but the post/attach thing is probably their biggest issue. _______________ R. Robert Bell |

That was odd... I got the email notification for "test" long before I saw the actual "test" post.
Email is timestamped 6:24:06 PM and the post is 6:56:09 PM? _______________ R. Robert BellLast Edit on:1/13/2011 6:59:42 PM |

Below is a list of things to be aware of when browsing through the Revitinfo.com Forum:
1) As a registered user at Revitinfo, you automatically are signed up to recieve emails any time a new post or reply to existing post is made. You can change this setting while logged in under your User Profile by clicking on your user name at the top right of any page, next to the Date (or by clicking on the My Profile Button on any Forum Page). Once you get here, click on the "Edit Profile" link below your Quick Profile Information. Finally, select "Manage Profile" and scroll down the the very bottom to change your forum email subscription Settings.
2) Each Entry must have an assigned Category and EntryType. Not all categories have subcategories, but if the category you pick has subcategories, please pick the most appropriate for your entry.
3) Only registered, logged-in users have the privledges to create posts, reply to posts, and view attachments of posts. Registration is free, and like any other forum, is our way of increasing forum functionality and security.
4) As a registered user, you will also have the ability to subscribe to threads individually, rate them, and view a list of your posts. You can also edit posts that you have made. 5) Soon, there will be a way for users to request other categories/SubCategories via a request form. Currently, for our system to work the way it has been designed, the category and subcategories as well as EntryTypes must remain a standard for all users of the site, in order to make searching/browsing information faster and easier.
