Split Wall with a Gap  

There is an undocumented piece of functionality in Revit. It is not generally released yet, but you can access it this way. Add the following to your revit.ini file:

[Construction]
AllowSplitwithGap=1

You will now have a new command under the 'Tools' menu. You have to use the 'Split Walls With Gap' command on the tools menu, since it is not part of the Split tool.
